Our team has recently been engaged to manage an extensive interior and exterior renovation project for an overseas client with a property in Les Houches. Our many overseas clients typically do not have the availability to oversee their renovation process themselves. They therefore rely on the Pangea team to oversee the entire process. This project is no exception and the renovation is already well underway, much to our client’s delight.
There are essentially two projects; a complete interior renovation and the construction of a new additional garage. Both will be managed concurrently to keep to our client’s desired timescale with the aim of completing by December 2022.
The interior renovations are typical of those required in older chalets to bring them up to modern specifications. This means a full strip back to shell to facilitate the installation of new, energy efficient insulation, an upgraded power supply with a full electrical rewire, installation of a new water main, a full re-plumb and construction of a new first floor balcony.
It takes an experienced team and a strong network of contacts to bring together such a complex mix of works whilst avoiding typical construction delays. Thanks to our many years managing property renovations in Chamonix, we know exactly who to call and how to allocate time for such work. Demolition has therefore already been completed and we’re excited to be comfortably on track to complete in time for the client to be able to use the chalet over Christmas.
One of the standout features of this particular property is the stunning mountain view on offer. With this in mind, external windows and doors are to be replaced and the existing window openings have been remodelled with the help of local architects to make the most of this unique vista.
The final internal fit out will include five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a ski room, a new kitchen and a spacious lounge/dining area. The end result will be a truly magnificent chalet easily able to meet the demands of modern living.
